Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the AI Leadership Dashboard — what it measures, which companies are listed, how they are scored, and the sources behind the data.

What is the AI Leadership Dashboard?

A public benchmark of how pharma and biotech companies are adopting AI. Each company is measured on four indicators — Deployment, Research, Talent, and Visibility — and scored so companies can be compared at a glance. The current edition is Q4 2026.

How did you pick the companies to include in the dashboard?

We included the top 30 biotech and pharma companies globally based on revenue from their biopharma business segments. We also included a list of commercial, clinical, and preclinical biopharma companies with a significant presence in the US. This list was generated from publicly available sources including the membership lists of the main industry associations. We plan to expand the coverage to other firms in the US and in Europe.

You said you assessed 610 companies but I can only see 92 on the dashboards. Where are the others?

The dashboards show the global top 30, plus the top 10% of the other commercial, clinical, and discovery and pre-clinical-stage companies in our database. The other 90% were assessed lower on the four indicators, or we found insufficient information to assess them.

We use their information in the AI use case repository and the hiring view.

By relying on publicly available information, isn’t the dashboard weighted toward companies that are more open?

That is a fair comment. Companies that disclose less publicly (for example by not publishing in academic journals, or by relying on recruiters rather than job postings) will score lower against some of the indicators.

Where can I see more details about my company’s profile and how it compares to others?

We are happy to share the full profile of your company and discuss which benchmarks would be most useful to you. Get in touch at research@resolve-next.com.

Does the dashboard show which company is the “best” or most advanced in its use of AI?

No. The four indicators (deployment, research, talent, visibility) are assessed separately, so they show how each company compares on a given indicator. But, the methodology for each indicator is sufficiently different that they can’t be compared, or aggregated into an overall score. The three US dashboards only show the top 10%, so we believe that, based on the information available to us, all the companies listed are making good progress with AI.

How often will you update the dashboard?

We will update the dashboard every three months. With each update, we plan to increase the inputs to the analysis and expand the number of companies covered.

My company is missing, or a figure looks wrong. Can it be corrected?

We are happy to show you how we assessed your company, and would love to hear about any other ways your company is using AI. Email research@resolve-next.com and we will review it before the next edition.

How did you account for uses cases that involved more than one company?

Use cases that cite more than one company (for example, from a collaboration or consortium) are included in the scores of all the companies involved.

Some companies on the list have medtech, consumer, animal health, or crop science businesses, are these included in the analysis?

No, we only assessed the biotech and pharma segments of each company.
