The ResolveNext AI Leadership Dashboard tracks how pharma and biotech companies are adopting AI. It compares companies within the same development stage using four publicly-available indicators: AI deployment, research, talent, and visibility. Together, these measures provide a unique benchmark of AI adoption across the industry.
To identify the cohort of AI leaders, ResolveNext evaluated AI deployment, research, talent and visibility at 610 biotech and pharma companies. See the table
The repository holds 1,663 real-world use cases across the value chain. Each use case has a description and source.
The hiring view shows which roles in US pharma and biotech involve AI, by type of role, business function, seniority, and skill.
The compass guides pharma and biotech leaders through the trade-offs, questions, and evidence that separate durable decisions from expensive mistakes.
This table names the 30 largest pharma and biotech companies worldwide by pharmaceutical revenue, listed alphabetically. Each is assessed on four indicators of AI leadership.

ResolveNext measures AI adoption using public sources only, and only the pharma and biotech segment of each company. The dashboard measures four indicators. Deployment measures the AI use cases a company has documented, how many processes they cover, and how many state an outcome. Research measures AI research papers in PubMed and AI trials in ClinicalTrials.gov. Trials are not counted for preclinical companies. Talent measures jobs posted in the last 12 months that involve AI or require AI skills. Visibility measures whether the company has a named AI executive, and how much news there is about its AI work.
The dashboard has two lists. The 30 largest biotech and pharma companies in the world, by pharmaceutical revenue, are all shown, listed alphabetically. For the regional markets, starting with the US, the top 10% of companies at each stage are shown in alphabetical order and are not ranked.
Each company is scored on the four indicators, and the indicators are weighted as shown on the left. How a score is worked out depends on the list:
The global top 30 are scored against fixed benchmarks, taking account of the size of their pharma business. Their scores do not depend on the other 29 companies.
The regional lists compare each company only with others at the same stage: commercial (sells an approved product), clinical (has a drug in human trials), or discovery and preclinical. If we could not read a company's job board, Talent reads "not measured."
